New Yorker Ed Heck is a pop artist whose work has garnered interest in both the United States and Europe. Born in Brooklyn in 1963, he still resides there. Ed Heck was drawn to drawing from a young age, often using books as templates to copy images. His father kept a close eye on him while he drew, or when they painted together. After graduating from art school, Ed Heck initially worked as an illustrator for children's books and science magazines. Line drawings, which he created in the evenings to relax, soon became a passion. His first exhibition took place in 1999 in New York. His witty and colorful comic sketches were an immediate success, a success that continues to this day. He is now recognized as a leading pop artist. Source: Fran K. Ruger Gallery website, 2020.
